Zie ook: Aruba in Oude Ansichten, no. 95: In 1949 stichtte Casey Eman, een fabriek om uit de opgehaalde sappen aloine te maken. Deze fabriek was aanvankelijk een succes, in 1951 haalde zij ongeveer 30 procent van de wereldproduktie, maar door de vroege dood van de heer Eman en omdat synthetische produkten goedkoper waren dan de aloine, moest het bedrijf worden gesloten.
