Zie ook: Het Oude Fort van Aruba, p. 49. Jacob Thielen II, geboren 1834, was gezaghebber van Saba, toen hij in 1888 tot gezaghebber van Aruba werd benoemd. Hij is dit gebleven tot 1897. Overleden in 1915. Gezaghebber Thielen II legde in 1889 in Fort Zoutman een proeftuin voor aloë aan.
