Description:
Caption: Artificial Lake of Pitch on the beach at extreme end of the concession. It is estimated that there are approximately one million tons of pitch stored here. This represents a potential source of low-grade feel, should it be desired to recover same in the future. At the present time, no pitch is being pumped out, as no asphalt is being made, owing to the ready market for fuel oil.
