Biblioteca Nacional Aruba
Creator: Morris, Nelson

Date: 1944-05

Description:

Caption: A lizard, one of the many types which practically overrun Aruba. Similar lizards are to be seen everywhere, floating about across and walks at incredible speed, seeming to be running on twitching tooth picks. Small lizards are the bane of the Aruban gardener, while the iguana, sometimes reaching 3 feet, is guaranteed to, frighten the daylights out of any tenderfoot. Among the other curios, not as common but still present, are rattlers, non-venomous scorpions, and centipedes, which sometimes attain an incredible size of 12 to 15 inches.
