The Feliciano family eating the evening meal. Family is so large that they usually eat in two shifts. Main dish, in center of table, is "funchi", the staple food of Aruban families. "Funchi" is made primarily of corn meal. Recipe: Corn meal, imported from the U.S., boiled in water plus a pinch of salt, stirred until it thickens, and placed in mold or platter until cool. Vegetables are quite scarce. Fish is only other main staple of diet.
