Commissioned by the United Nations Children’s Fund-The Americas and Caribbean Regional Office , it was conducted by the Observatorio Social del Ecuador (OSE), a non-governmental organization based in Quito. The study had two main objectives: to evaluate progress and challenges around the implementation of the rights of children and women; and to make recommendations for social action and public policies in the medium and long term in order to improve the conditions and life opportunities of those population groups.
