en deeldan weldra in het lot der grootere. Twee der oorlogocheps-o, genaamd de Boarboo, eo de Dromedaris als ook twee mindere vaartuigen die de achterste zeilden, waren de eenig. ste die nog tyd haddea om zich te weodeu ca het gevaar te ontkomen.
Velen dezer geittandde vaartuigen veerden nog
dien zelfden nacht aan slokken geslagen, waai by meer dan 300 mensebeo verdronken; docb anderen hielden het nog den volgaoden dag uit eer zy van een barstten.
Door middel van de vaartuigen «elke behou
den bleven en de sloepen, werden de schipbreukelingen van de geatrandde acbepen gehaaid cri op het Aves Eiland gazet docb vele vaartui
gen sloegen uit een alvorens bet scheepsvolk er konde afgenomen worden.
De gouverneur van Ssn Domingo welke bet

Ondertasschen heerschte er de grootste wanorder onder de overgeblevenen op het Aves Eiland: de manschappen die van San Domingo waren, bestonden meest uit Flibostiers, negers en raaletten, deze wilden naar geene ge/sgbebbeoden of officieren luisteren, maar plunderden en roofden w»t nog van de Vaartuigen gered werd - hierdoor ontstond da grootste verwarring : de sterkeren klopten de zwakkeren, ontnamen hun da levensmiddelen die aan wal gedreven waren of eigenden zich met geweld da geborgene goederen toe ; deze Flibo-tiers tier. den doswel verzorgd en naren ook gehard tegen allerlei ongemakken ; zy hadden daarom niet veel te lyden, maar eene menigte raeosetien ca vooroamelyk de Earopeenen die niet be.tand waren tagen de felle hitte, honger an doist, bezweken meestal spoedig.
Zoodra men te Curaijvo deze ramp vernomen

ten of hierdoor eenige de minste aanleiding te geven om te verstaan dat het Gouvernement dezes eilands, hetwelk zich daartoe onbevoegd acht, eenig icgt by het Coluinbiaansch Gouvernement tot de daarsteli'mg van dusdanige bepaling op eenigerlei wyze zoude erkend hebben, maar eeniglyk om Kederlandsche onderdanen op hunne boede te stellen wegens dadelyke schade en nadeelen die zy zouden kunnen Iyde;i,
noodig en dienstig geoordeeld hebben, by t'eze, tot narist van alle belanghebbenden, bekend te maken : dat, volgens berigt by ons van het Gouvernement van Columbia i-iuvangen, de vaartuigen welke opdat gedie'te der Vaste kust, hetwelk door wilde Indiaansche volkstammen bewoond en dè Indiaansche Kust genaamd wordt, zouden willen handel dryven, onder geene andere

doen, ten einde aldaar de ladingen op te geven, welke niet zullen mogen bestaan of

dezelve zicb naar de bestemde plaats op tie gemelde Indiaansche Kust kunmn begeven, zonder van de zyde der kustbewaarders van Columbia aan eenige kwelling of vexatie blool te staan.

door den kapitein luitenant Muller, is ep verleden Douderdag den 30-ten 11, des avonds ten S ure, op eenen kruistogt vertrokken, duch kwam des anderen morgen weder binnen, oith ofde zy door zwaar wind de voorsteng gebroken bad. 7,y vertrok, na de steng hersteld te liabbco denzelfden avond ten 7 uren en kwam op laatstleden Dingsdag morgen binnen deze haven terug.
Het geta! der HjweljUen welke in bet vorige
jaar zyn gesloten geworden beloopt op 69; een getal hetwelke dat van alle vorige jaren over tteft; het blykt hieruit, ofschoon men thans klaagt o«er de slechte tyden, dat Amor zich hieraan weinig stooit en dat zyne alïairen, boe slecht liet met alle andere zaken nok moge gaan, toch aiJyd io een btoeijenden staat zyn.

Met de aankomst van een vaartoïg uit Rio de
la H.acha, hebben wy deze week nieuwipapieren vao Catthagena ontvangen, loopende tot den 27sten November. Dezelve behelzen het
Spaansche officiële berigt van het gevecht te Junio, betwelke weinig of uiets verschilt met de ta'letins van de Patriotten, weike in de Amerikeansche en Caracas nieuwspapiertn zyn geplaatst geworden. De proklsmatie van Rodil,
beschryftde benaauwde omstandigheden waar in de koningsgezinden te Peru zich gevonden babbel); door de huisgezinoen weg te jagen, welke zich by hunnen standaard vervoegd hadden', hebben zy meer verloren, dan hetgene zy konden verliezen in verscheidene gevechten. De
I'atriotten in bet tegendeel, zelfs aan den oever der verdelging, in de lente van verleden jaar, hebben hunne omdwalende natuurgenoten tot eene berbergzame wyk uilgeooodigd, behandelden hunne kiygigevangenen met grootmoedigheid, waarby zy zoo veel invloed gewonnen als Caoterac, door het tegeadeel te doeo verloren hebben. De Spaansche gezagbebbeoden heb
ben een aantal proklamatien doen uitgeven tegen generaal Olaneta, een man van lage grondbeginzelen, dia ten deze opzichte door den koning van Spanje tot onder koning van Peru is benoemd geworden, niettegenstaande zyne ondergeschiktheid in rang zoo «rel aan Laseroa

gena dat de moedige vice -dmiraal Guise, op den I2den Nov. niettegenstaande de overm-vgl der Spanjaarden alag geboden lieefl aan het Spaansche linie schip de Azia, die op eene lafhartige wyze geweigerd heeft van zyn aanbod gebruik te miken. De admiraal bluf echter
vóór de haven van Callao kruizen. Toen de
Azia ten anker kwam werd er een aartul zieken in 5 boten aan de wnl gezet, vve'Ue onge twyfetd door ander volk vau de wal zjileu vervangen geworden zyn.
